Your Guardian Angel
Growing up Catholic, I pretty much knew of three angels: my Guardian Angel, to whom I recited a sweet prayer before bed each night, and the archangels; Michael and Gabriel. Hymns and cathedral ceilings introduced me to the cherubim, seraphim, thrones, dominions, principalities and some others. Valentine’s Day made the cherubs famous, but with the exception of cherubs shooting arrows, I didn’t really know what they all did and the information I had was less than accurate. Over the last few years, since I started seeing Angel Lights and Colors, I made it my mission to find out as much about angels as humanly possible.
I read books, listened to podcasts, and took an Angelic Psychic Medium Certification Course. Most of all, I learned to meditate, read angel cards, and listen to my own intuition. I’ve come to recognize the feelings and messages that I get from different angels, and I always get comfort!
George, my Guardian Angel, is the only angel that I’ve ever seen with a human-ish body. He showed himself to me with copper-color breastplates and arm bands, holding a staff. His hair was dark black in a pageboy style, and the golden/yellow light around him was incredibly bright. I only ever saw him like that once, and I think the reason is twofold: one) The most important angels in our lives are our guardian angels. They are with us from birth, every moment of our lives to guard us, guide us, and help us navigate life here on earth. They have our personal best interest at heart., and two) Angels are not human. They are energy, love, and light, and by humanizing them, we humans miss their purpose as messengers of love, light, and hope. I recognize angels from the light frequencies they emanate and the feelings they convey to me. Human-shapes with wings and halos are not needed for that.
Given that your Guardian Angel is with you your whole life, and they always have your back, they are your literal BFF!
Just like we have heard that our loved ones in spirit are near and we can talk to them anytime and they will hear us, it is the same with the angels. Your Guardian Angel wants you to have regular conversations with them. (*Note sometimes people have more than one Guardian Angel, especially if you've ever had an NDE, or Near Death Experience).
Some people prefer not to “pray”, but prayer is simply having a conversation with someone you cannot see. Speak to your Guardian Angel, from the moment you awaken to the moment you close your eyes at night. Ask them for help, advice, protection, and for signs. They will answer through your thoughts, ideas, songs, other people, and many other ways. You can request a particular sign or symbol, or be open to how they choose to come through to you. Your job is to trust the messages you get. If you think it might be an angel message, it IS an angel message!
And, if you’re not sure how to get started, try:
Angel of God, My Guardian Dear,
To whom God’s Love commits me here.
Ever this day be at my side,
To light, to guard, to rule, and guide.
