Winter
Winter can be a very trying season to navigate. The nights are long. The air is cold. When skies are gray and trees are barren, it gives an air of sadness and death.
When life throws curveball after curveball at you, especially in the dead of winter, things start to feel heavy.
Why am I writing about this, when normally my blogs tend toward the positive? Angels made me do it, of course. That said, I have been hearing from A LOT of people lately that are going through A LOT of stuff. If I’m honest, I’m experiencing my own stuff. And like Gramma Dolly said, “If it’s not one thing, it’s two.” Except right now - it’s more like, “if it’s not one thing, it’s ten!”
If you are reading this, feeling a bit disappointed because you were ready for 2025 to be a magic ticket out of the hell of 2024 and the train hasn’t arrived yet, this message is for you. If it’s not you, it’s probably someone you know, so please share this message far and wide.
First, remember to ASK the angels for help. Your Guardian Angel has been with you since birth for precisely these times. You can ask for help with parking spaces and remembering to take medication at the same time daily, but also you can ask for help with big things. Ask for glimmers of hope. Ask for BIG WARNING SIGNS before big accidents, with enough time to do something about it without the expense or injury. If it’s too late for that, ask for a miracle and believe you are worthy of the answers, the money, or the help. Angels NEED us to ask for help - and gratitude upon receiving insures that more help will be forthcoming. Don’t forget to say thank you!
Second, look at the story you’re telling yourself. (I’m trying to keep this blog brief and this point could quickly derail me so I will ask the angels to remind me to do another blog on this topic alone.) We have the power. WE HAVE THE POWER to change the stories we tell ourselves. If you are continually focusing on the negative, re-traumatizing yourself over and over with something that happened a long time ago - you will do two things: bring more negativity toward you, and feel awful about something that isn’t even happening in the present moment. Take the lesson and let that thing that you’re feeling shame, hurt, anger, or frustration about go. Focus on the here and now (your breath, what you can smell, what you can taste, what you can hear, what you can see) and then spend your time imagining what you want your reality to be and do the steps as if it is already so. Do you want to be the kind of person who hears from their angels? Get up each morning, and instead of doom scrolling, do a meditation for 5, 10, 20 minutes and before you know it, you’ll be getting regular angelic messages.
Finally, remember that seasons don’t last forever, they unfold into the next. You have made it through multiple winters of life successfully and every single one has been followed by spring. This will be no different, whether it’s the actual season or this season of your life. Things will get better! Most of the things we worry about never happen, and five years…even five months down the road most of the obstacles we are dealing with now will be long forgotten.
