Living in Gratitude for the Life I Want
Back in the 90’s when I was a Mary Kay Consultant, we often proclaimed the Bob Proctor quote: “What you think about, you bring about.” I did fairly well -I earned a red Grand Am, but then moved from Santa Barbara to Minnesota and ended up buying that car in order to keep driving it. Perhaps I didn’t think it through? Or perhaps, I was too focused on “what if I lose all my customers?”
The truth is: What you think about you bring about is a good saying, but collectively, we have been using it all wrong. Don’t get me wrong. We’ve been using it effectively, but unfortunately, we’ve been thinking about the things we don’t want.
We have been living in fear. It’s not uncommon for me to hear, “that’s what I was afraid was going to happen”...and guess what? That’s WHY it happened! Our thoughts and words have energy and energy is the language the Universe speaks!
Remember learning how to ride a bike and getting used to pedaling and steering and balancing and braking? Then you saw a tiny rock ahead of you and thought, “I can’t hit that rock! It will knock me off balance and I’ll lose control! I can’t hit that rock! I can’t hit that rock!” It was only a small rock, maybe as wide as the bike tire, but by constantly focusing on that darn rock, you were able to perform the miracle of running right over it, resulting in feeling off-balance and falling over! That is how focusing our energy and attention, and using our internal dialogue works!
It seems like we have been bringing ourselves exactly what we don’t want by focusing too hard on it, talking too much about it: whatever “it” is!
I was listening to a podcast or YouTube the other day, and I’m sorry I don’t remember which one because I was also weeding and letting the queue play. The point is, this woman was channeling the angelic realms and the message was to start focusing our energy on a love frequency. More simply; spend some time each day focusing on what you do want.
Each morning, when I wake up, I start sending reiki out to the world. For the last year or so I would send some to the coral reefs, the melting icebergs, the places where natural disasters were devastating the area, the places being ravaged by war, and governments locally and around the world that were being self-serving, instead of serving the people. I thought, “these are the places, things, and people that need some extra love right now and I will send pure love energy to them.” The problem is…I was visualizing the destruction, sadness and mayhem in the process.
Ope!
I have changed my thinking! I am now sending reiki (pure love light energy) in thanksgiving to the new things I am imagining as coming true. It’s like the Fantasia reel in my mind after the volcano rumbles and explodes and destroys everything in its wake, but then new life starts springing anew. I envision drought areas turning supple and green, and the oceans back at their perfect temperatures. I channel my inner Mr. Rogers and see neighbors helping neighbors, people giving each other the benefit of doubt and lifting one another up instead of making their life harder. I imagine governments where those in positions of power are not abusing it for their own gain, but actually helping those most in need. Yes, I’m doing a mind-experiment in my meditation/reiki session…and I’m inviting you to join me.
I know that the angels are working hard on our behalf to bring balance back to our earth. I also know the BEST way to help them is to keep our own vibrations high. We aren’t going to achieve that by watching the “news” pundits talking about all the “what-if” situations. Those myriad scenarios are only going to make us feel depressed and anxious, which don’t happen to be high-vibrational emotions. They’re the equivalent of focusing on the little rock we don’t want to hit with our bike tire! I guarantee that by focusing on the Utopian thoughts, in a “thank you, Angels, for making this our reality” way, we will have a much softer landing.
And, even if I’m wrong, (which I’m not because this is not a personal message, but an angel message!),what's the worst-case scenario? For 5 - 25 (or more…don’t let me limit you!) minutes a day you raise your own personal vibration and think about something pleasant. It seems like a win/win situation!
