Change Your Perspective

Today is the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and no doubt you’ve noticed a change in the air. The big lake near my house had an ice-out a couple weeks ago with the warm temperatures, and snow is in the forecast over the next few days. Typical spring weather. My wind chimes have been singing for me for days. There’s all sorts of astrological changes going on over the next month, but suffice it to say, by the end of April, things will be very different for everyone. Hold on for the ride!

Better yet, change your perspective. When “mentally arguing” with the angels about this week’s topic, this was the one that came to light (and I had some good ideas, I thought!).

What does this mean? And how do we achieve it? Well, the first image that came to mind was the photo my husband sent to me while flying over the Italian Alps (lucky him). We are so used to viewing things from our eyes on the ground - obscured by many things (right now for me; the 4 walls of my house, the trees and neighbors’ houses, fences. He, on the other hand, captured miles and miles of mountain tops and valleys. What if we imagine our situation from a birds-eye view, or even a plane, or rocket ship? I think maybe that’s why we humans have this idea that God is above us, instead of all around us. The intricate details by which the most miraculous things occur can only be orchestrated by an entity with a much broader view than anyone here in the thick of it all.

When I am feeling frustrated or disappointed, I’ve noticed that my view is incredibly narrow and self-focused. Why meeeeee???!!! Spirituality has helped pull me out of that, primarily because as soon as I truly grasped the concept of oneness, I realized that I am connected to everything on earth made of the same matter that makes me. In other words, EVERYTHING. When we feel this connectedness, then my problems aren’t just mine and your problems aren’t just yours anymore. This is something indigenous cultures had so right. They honored the sacred connectedness (God!) within everything: earth, sky, water, wind and those who lived there.

Perhaps our problems aren’t as big as they seem - and my intention isn’t heartless, I promise. I see you. I see your pain and frustration. The angels are asking me to remind us all to ask them for help with our burdens. How might our situation help someone else feel not so alone? Can we reach out and support one another? We, Americans, did that after 9/11 for awhile before we started dividing up into “us vs. them” groups…are we willing to reach out and find the ties that bind again?

And what about the little nuisances -life not going the way we imagined it for ourself? Well, let’s look down on our lives and see all our blessings: I have a roof over my head, can listen to the wind chimes from the warmth of my home. I have food on my table. My health is better than it’s ever been. I have met incredibly wonderful people and spend time connecting with souls who are actively making this world a better place. Just typing these things makes me feel better.

A few years ago I started keeping a journal of 5 things I was grateful for everyday. It has morphed into a simple calendar entry, but I still do it. Today I am grateful for the sunshine, my family who is spread out across the country and world, my good health, nearly finishing my booklet for my Communicating with Angels Class, and YOU! Thank you for reading this blog. Thank you for supporting me and my business. Thank you for sharing information about my blog and podcasts and services with your friends. I truly appreciate you in my life.

Peace and Blessings,

Margaret
