Azrael- Angel of Death and Transitions
Archangel Azrael is Whom God Heals. He comforts the dying and grieving, helps with transition from this life to the afterlife and helps you communicate with loved ones who have passed. I work with Azrael a lot and I’m encouraging you to too!
Just over a week ago, my Uncle passed away. He was a beautiful soul, the kind that becomes even more loving and attentive with heartache and disappointments. John was a larger than life kind of guy. He looked a lot like Santa Claus , hugged tight like a teddy bear, and his laughter filled up a room. I cannot speak too much to his life before the last 27 years, but I know that since I moved within a hundred miles of him my experiences with him. I’m quite certain his health has not been good in all that time. A couple decades or so ago, he went to the ER feeling “off” and had a heart attack there. His grandson drown as a young boy, and Uncle John and Aunt Judy would travel regularly to visit and support their daughter and her family, as THE MOST IMPORTANT JOB they had. I saw many sports videos of games they had attended. They were so proud! He watched his son, John Jr., fight lung cancer for over five years, and then succumb to it. Meanwhile, his bride of 63 years has dementia and regressed to the point where she no longer recognizes anyone. John lived his life on his own terms. My other uncle (mom’s brother), has been his best friend longer than that, and also has dementia, but John would visit him as often as he could (weekly if his health was up to it), and Tom still tells stories of the two of them going to Beer Bars when they were in high school. John showed up for people when they needed him. He drove from Wisconsin to Seattle to visit my dad before he died 40 summers ago. A few months ago, he took a “farewell tour” and rode Amtrak to Seattle to visit his youngest brother and his wife (who has bladder cancer) and to see my mom. He spent a good chunk of that trip at the hospital, before hopping a plane down to Southern California to see his sister, who can’t leave her husband who is in hospice, and another brother and sister-in-law who were visiting, and my sister, who joined them for a day. He made it back home for a few hours before his final trip to the hospital. Now he is reunited with his parents, two of his brothers and one of his sisters, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, a grandson, his son, and countless others, whom I’m sure are excited to have him there and party with him. I have no doubt that Azrael helped John transition and say all the “see you laters” he wanted to make. And, as Bruce Springsteen has been ending his concerts lately, with a tribute to loved ones who have passed, Uncle John, until we meet again, “I’ll see you in my dreams”.
Death of the body is only one of the transitions Archangel Azrael helps with. This benevolent angel, who often gets depicted as something to fear because of misrepresentations in media (cartoons, movies, TV), is actually here to help us move from the known to the unknown. This is often scary, whether you’re actually moving residences, jobs, out of or into a relationship, or you or someone dear to you is ready to transition from this life to the next. We have all sorts of ideas of what it might be like, but we can only ever go by what other people tell us. When I moved from Seattle to Santa Barbara, I had no idea what to expect…I had also just gotten married and knew not a single marriage is the same. When we moved from California to Minnesota, we were excited about having four seasons! Lol. Perhaps we didn’t understand the assignment? But seriously, we love it here. We just couldn’t predict what it would be like.
Archangel Azrael is a comforter when you are grieving, whether it’s before the big transition is official, or after, it doesn’t matter. His loving presence helps you actually find the end to those tears, releases some of the tightness in your chest and throat. Ask him to help you to trust that all will be well. Ask him for help letting go. Perhaps it’s a relationship, or relationships, that are no longer serving you? I have a friend who is healing all the hurts deep within her since birth, and some that were her parents’ and grandparents’ hurts. She is writing letters, forgiving, and creating a new life for herself where all her needs are met. Azrael is right there with her.
Earlier this year, I started a process of rebuilding myself a healthier body. I have let go of a LOT of things that I once thought would be impossible, but as I have worked through old patterns, and released connections to certain foods, I have also released a dependence on blood pressure and allergy meds. You can be sure that I asked for angelic guidance on that. Azrael helped with the transition from NEEDING sugar and dairy multiple times a day to not really craving them. It’s not that I don’t get excited at the smell of mocha or chocolate chip cookie, I just don’t really want to eat them anymore. I think it has more to do with the healing within me: feeling safe, worthy, and enough, that has helped me find other ways to feed my soul. Thank you, Azrael and angels who helped make this program, that I went into blindly, so seamless for me.
As I talk with family and friends, I KNOW that everyone is going through some intense stuff right now. Things are piling-up and piling-on. This world is changing, and there’s a lot of chaos amidst us. Angels are here to help, we just need to ask. Archangel Azrael is a fabulous resource for each one of us, and if you’re feeling sad, or anxious, or depressed, or worried, ask him to touch your heart and breathe a little deeper, a little easier for a bit.
