Happy Birthday Peaceful Soulutions!
It was this week a year ago that I officially started my business. It took me much of the week, but I did the steps to make my dream a reality: I started Facebook and Instagram pages. I got this website with a URL and started my blog. I applied for an LLC with the state. I ordered business cards. And, perhaps most importantly, I packed up a suitcase with sheets, pillows, incense, crystals, and my oracle cards, and I walked through the doors of the crystal shop nearby and set up the space to do reiki healings or card readings for anyone who might walk through the doors and be interested in my services. For friends and family who couldn’t make it to the retail establishment on the days I was scheduled to work, I welcomed them into my home where I had set up a massage table and could use the kitchen table as needed.
As with most new things, there are always way more people who say they are interested than those who actually follow up with action, so to those of you who took a chance on me, I want to extend a heartfelt, deep gratitude. It is because of you that I’m still going today. Every reiki session, every oracle card reading, every reiki class has made a positive impact and shown me that I am truly on the right path. And an EXTRA thank you to everyone who took the time and effort to write a testimonial, rate me on Google, and/or refer me to a friend. I am finding that while social media is a key marketing tool in this day and age, most of the women (ummm…if you know any men who are interested, I’m not being sexist, they just haven’t been reaching out for services yet) that I have worked with, thus far, are not on social media. Thus, word of mouth is so very, very appreciated.
I’m amazed at all that’s happened over the last year. Of course, there were all kinds of “firsts”. I learned how to estimate my time needed for reiki sessions, card readings, and classes. I taught 12 classes and did 19 Attunements. I developed two Reiki classes and my own Reiki for Kids and Angel classes. I took numerous classes: Medical Intuitive, Shamanic Classes, Psychic and Mediumship Classes, and more. I read books and listened to podcasts constantly. I made sure to do my self-reiki, meditations, and journaling nearly everyday. I took part in three psychic and healing fairs and three festivals where I met so many wonderful people. And, I learned to trust the Universe and my own intuition.
The year was not without some obstacles/learning opportunities. While I don’t want to dwell on them; the hurts, disappointments, bad investments, and uncertainty at times all taught me something. I know better how to trust my instincts and my first impressions. I have learned how to better advocate for myself and my needs. I’m learning how to “let it go and let it flow” more gracefully. And, I am so confident that I am on the path I was born to live out that I no longer freak out when I need to (or get to) go out of town. People are still gravitating toward me and my services.
I don’t know where the next year will take me. I have some visions and am excited to continue on this path, no matter what form it takes. I’ve experienced healing on all levels (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual) and feel a peace in my soul that is so incredible that I have learned how to teach others how to experience it too.
